Winterlude...
So Jen and I are heading up to Ottawa this weekend to soak in the sights, smells and tastes of Ottawa's winter festival. We're going to be meeting up with friends and doing all the touristy stuff like skating on the Rideau Canal, eating Beavertails, and being gauged in restaurants and bars. It'll be beautiful. Well... sorta. This weekend, the temperature is supposed to drop, which doesn't make for optimal outdoor skating, especially given Jen's understandable distaste for temperatures below zero.
I, on the other hand, thrive in the cold temperatures. I'm not a fan of the hazy, humid days of July and August. There's just something about the cold that I don't mind as much. I think it's a matter of relief. If it's cold, you can always get warm... by building a fire, getting indoors, jumping around... whatever. When it's hot, the only respite comes from AC, and I don't have it in my Apt, and it's not readily available on the streets.
Give me or cold, or give me... well... heat.
