Winter Camping Food
While winter camping, it's best to avoid sugar and load up on proteins... they burn more slowly giving your body a better energy source to generate heat. That means lots of cheese and a bit of pasta. You also need to keep your fluids up to avoid dehydration, so that means lots of soup, water, juice... whatever.
For flavour, most people recommend having dried fruit to snack on. It's tasty, and good for you... but we found one drawback... Fibre. You do not want fibre while you are winter camping... all that gas rumbling around in your stomach, even the cheese can't counteract the inevtiable result, and you don't want to be dropping trow in a snowbank... well, I'll stop there.
The soups were great, and dehydrated eggs are the way to go in the morning. Just avoid eating too much dried fruit... especially the pears.
